If you are going to dream, dream big! And that’s exactly what the owners of Copperhead Lodge have done. The concept for Copperhead Lodge started out as a small idea and quickly turned into a lifelong dream for owners and motorcycle enthusiasts, Dave Turcotte and Tom Glaze. Tom was on his way back from one of his many rides while at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally when he saw a road sign that simply said “Great Steaks, Cold Beer”. Ready for a pit stop, he turned off the highway onto a gravel road. As he approached the Whitetail Creek Outfitters Lodge, the thought occurred to him that a motorcycle lodge would be a great idea for the North Georgia Mountains with the scenic views and great motorcycle rides on the curvy, winding mountain roads. After the trip, Tom shared this dream with his business partner, Dave Turcotte – co-owner of Turcotte Enterprises. These two friends traveled to Sturgis the following year and stopped again at the Whitetail Creek Outfitters Lodge. Both of them realized this would be a great addition to the already popular resort area in the North Georgia Mountains. Returning home, these two along with other owners, Brian Turcotte and Flo Fournier, began looking for land and sketching the plans.
Copperhead Lodge originally started as a 5,000 square foot facility that quickly turned into the 12,500 Lodge situated in a 40 acre motorcycle resort community located in the North Georgia Mountains. The resort was constructed with bikers in mind in every detail from the paved roads into and out of the facility to the covered bike parking to the private bike garages. The property also features 60 individual park model cabins, a rustic lodge, an outdoor pavilion/amphitheater and swimming pool plus various other amenities all situated in a beautiful mountain setting. Surrounded by the beautiful North Georgia Mountains, The Lodge is situated in a prime area for rides through the valleys and mountain gaps. There are many scenic wonders to ride and explore only miles from the Lodge. Some local rides of interest include: Suches, Tail of the Dragon, Blood Mountain, Richard B. Russell Highway, Brasstown Bald and Scenic Highway 60. Copperhead Lodge offers an Ambassador Program for anyone who can organize an overnight ride or rally with their motorcycle club or group of friends to enjoy the mountain scenery. The program allows the organizer to receive free accommodations at the lodge. The only catch is they must fill all 10 hotel rooms and they receive the Lodge Suite for free. It truly is that simple. Contact The Lodge today for more information and to book your group!
As you enter the grand lodge and gathering area which overlooks Lower Young Cane Creek, you will be greeted by the friendly and knowledge front desk staff. It is the focal point for the resort and features: casual fine dining, overnight accommodations, several fireside gathering areas, members only Club Room – Ray’s Room, fitness area and riding gear, apparel & sundries shop. The lodge is surrounded by 5,000 square feet of covered porches, which was the original plan for the entire lodge, are complete with hot tubs and lounging areas. Every weekend, the deck or grand lounge features live music for guests, visitors and members to enjoy. The atmosphere allows everyone to kick back and enjoy the cool mountain evenings with new and old friends. The location and amenities also make Copperhead Lodge the ideal facility for events, banquets and weddings. The hotel rooms are all smoke-free and stocked with deluxe accommodations. The majority of the rooms are furnished with double beds, but there is also a handicap-accessible suite as well as a twin-bed layout to accommodate all guests. All rooms are equipped with personal bath tub/shower combo, satellite TV, free local phone calls, wireless internet access and personal hairdryers. “My husband and I recently spent a relaxing weekend at the lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was outstanding. The suite was very spacious.”
The park cabins (The Chopper, The Cruiser and The Sport) are approximately 400 square feet and are available for sale or rent. The cabins are priced from the high $90,000 and varies depending upon options and lot selection. Each cabin has a full kitchen, private bathroom and sleeping accommodations for up to 8 guests. While all cabin plans have one bedroom, bunk room and loft options are available. Additional amenities are available including decks, hot tubs, covered or screened porches and bike garages. They will be situated along biker friendly paved roads. An on-site rental management program is also available for purchasers who want to utilize their cabins as an investment property.
